It’s easy. It’s convenient. It’s a simple way to help preserve Alberta’s natural beauty.

And now, Albertans are recycling more and more of the 75 million plastic milk jugs and paper milk cartons sold in the province each year. Thanks to the Alberta Dairy Council Milk Container Recycling Program, a groundbreaking industry stewardship initiative, more than 90% of Alberta residents have direct access to milk container recycling services in their communities.

The program enables Alberta’s dairy industry to support the voluntary collection and recycling of milk jugs and milk cartons. It’s a unique collaboration between industry, municipalities and the provincial government, and it makes Alberta the North American leader in the stewardship of used milk containers.
